Hi Everyone
I've Tried several times to install Oracle database 12.1c in my Fedora 20
and every time i've faced differents problems
Please I'm looking for steps to install it witout facing every day a New Problem ( and start Workaroud again ).
Now I Have :

Rather than 'workarounds', why not perform some obvious steps, like:
  • Not installing Oracle on Fedora...Oracle does NOT support Fedora to begin with. The list of supported OS'es is on Oracle's website
  • Install an OS that actually SUPPORTS Oracle...even CentOS (which is FREE), can run Oracle with pretty much the same stability as Red Hat Enterprise.
  • Call Oracle support for help with problems...Oracle is NOT free software, so if you're not paying for it, you shouldn't be using it
  • Actually TELL US what steps you've taken and what problems you've had? Just saying "I've faced different problems", tells us nothing. Unless you post DETAILS, there's nothing we can help you with.

And Fedora 20 has Maria DB in the repos
it is replacing MySQL

but if YOU NEED Oracles 12c DB
then buy ( $$$ ) and install Oracles linux 6.5

Oracles rebuild of the redhat OS is EXPLICITLY configured and OPTIMIZED to run Oracles own DB

Why were you in the dark?? Details are freely available on Oracle's website, if you tried to look.

...and again, searching would lead you to answers. This has been asked and answered on this site MANY times...please try the "Search" function, since re-typing the same answer isn't a good thing.

Also, that 'error' is only for the graphical Oracle installer...why don't you install it from command line? Or (AGAIN), check Oracle's knowledgebase, where that question has ALSO been answered before?

the other way around
Oracle DOSE NOT support fedora !!!

Fedora is a very fast moving Research and Development distro
one that changes SO FAST that most company's and organizations can NOT keep up with the pace of the changes .

http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml

substitute CentOS for "Red Hat" anywhere it's used on those pages.

Hope that helps.
