ADSL Modem

I know I know, there have been countless threads about the infamous Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem, and I've read them all. There was only one that was helpful, but it only went so far. I downloaded the drivers like it said. I put the mgmt.o file in my /usr/shapre/speedtouch and I went into the Mandrake Control Center - Network and Internet - and used the wizard. I filled in the questions that I thought were correct, and it won't connect, I need help!

There should be a driver on one of the cd's for the speedtouch. Last mandrake I've used (8.1) had one, install & configuration was a piece of cake. Just install the rpm and follow the howto (http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net) for your configuration.
I noticed that a lot of people have problems with the speedtouch, but it's pretty easy if you follow the howto.
Worst case scenario involves recompiling your kernel with a few extra settings.
