ADSL info


hello today am thinking bout installing mandrake 10 but for my adsl im wondering what information do i need apart from "username password phone number" my connection isnt through a router its PPPoATM
ive seen words like erm subnet mask etc i dont know what any of therse are any help appreciated

I'm almost positive that Roaring Penguin (rp-pppoe) will work with pppoa.... So, no... You shouldn't need anything other than your username and password. Just open up a terminal and type 'adsl-setup' and answer all the questions it throws at you and then use 'adsl-start' and 'adsl-stop' respectively for your connection.. Hope this helps..

it also depends which modem you have. I know that most Alcatel modems can be set so that they appear to be a router to your internal network.
