Adobe flash player problems - new to linux


Hello,

I am new to Linux and i am trying to install adobe flash player.

I have downloaded flash player but when i try and open it nothing happens, i have tried installing with down load manager and file manager,

i have tried the .rpm and .deb version,

i a using a net book and i believe i have simple Linux

if you could explain in simple terms (I'm a windows guy)

thank you for your help =)
