Unhappy Adobe Flash player for Mozilla in Fedora 10


My Fedora 10 is completely updated...
But still my Firefox browser needs Adobe Flash player plugin to run internet videos...
Although i clicked on install missing plugin but it was followed by a message of "failed to install use manual installation" after downloading the YUM package
Can any one please help me...i am new to Fedora 10 or any Linux and dont know what to do

Go to Adobe site, click the image/link to Flash player and download it manually. For Fedora you can probably choose the ".rpm for Linux" option, which you can, after downloading it, install by double-clicking on it, or using 'rpm' from command line.

Another option is to download (from the same place) the .tar.gz version. There's a plugin file inside (libflashplayer.so or something close to that) which you can simply copy to your Mozilla browser plugin directory; restarting the browser should then load it. Either way should work, but installing the rpm package might make keeping it up-to-date easier.

Nice to hear. The downside of this is that it doesn't necessarily suit browsers other than Mozilla, and that you have to do manual work, but if it works, good. And because the filename (of the plugin) is, or has been up to today, the same with new versions, it can easily be overwritten to upgrade (instead of ending up having several plugins).
