Welcome to LQ.
So what did you do ... with what ? ? There is no file by name " Adobe AIR " Would it be ' AdobeAIRInstaller.bin ' ? May be do the command 'chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin' Then execute ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin in the terminal and the "Adobe AIR Setup" window appears together with a dialogue box asking for password. Abobe AIR gets installed to /opt/Adobe AIR/ ..... |

Can you please provide more information: Location from where you had downloaded the installer? $ chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin Before launching installer binary, create an empty log file $ touch $HOME/.airinstall.log $ ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin Let us know the contents of .airinstall.log. |
I'm getting an error installing AIR as well. When I run the sudo ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin I get this error 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected. I've downloaded the file several times, and gone through the whole procedure again. Same error. Any help would be appreciated.

@ knudfl Thanks for the post, but I'm still having the problem. I've got the bin in my home folder, open terminal, verify that I'm in the right folder, and run the two commands but still end up with this. I'm not sure if this is a hardware/platform issue (I'm running an older Dual G4 PowerMac w/ 9.10 PPC) or what. Here's a screen shot of the process.
