Thankyou so much for your effort. Unfortunally this information only shows how to use the player not put tracks on to it which is the information I was seeking.
So for now at least I will continue to use Windows 7 and leave Debian untill my frustration levels subside.
Again thankyou for your help.
If I can discover how to close this post I shall now do so.

What do you mean by that? You download a .mp3 file just like you download any file. With a download mgr like wget, or use your web browser to download a link. That's assuming that the .mp3 file is free to download.

Decible audio player is an audio file or CD player. the links I gave you show you how it works.

What do you mean by that? You want to play a track on a CD? You want to make a playlist? You want to play a directory of .mp3 files? You want to rip tracks off of a CD and encode them to .mp3? What are .mp3 tracks? The tracks on a CD are .wav format.

Give some more info on what you are trying to do. There isn't anything regarding audio files that Linux, ffmpeg, mencoder and audio players won't do. That is unless it's encrypted audio files that need a key and a windows only setup to play.
