Adding Sources to Add/Remove Software w/out Internet Connection

I am very new to Linux so please bare with me.

I need to create sources for Add/Remove Software, since I will not have an internet connection in a development lab. I'm still unsure of how to create a repository, since that is what I think I'm supposed to do. I have an FTP location of where the .rpm files are, but no idea how to have Add/Remove Software point to it. Any ideas?

Again, please bare with me. I'm very new

I'm guessing this is Fedora? Or OpenSuse? We need to know distro information.

Also, are these rpm's set up as a repository already or are you trying to use them as if they were a repository (which would require you to create a local repository)?

Whoops! Forgot to mention that. This is Centos 6.4

The rpms are not yet set up as a local repository. I have read somewhere to use "yum install createrepo," but since I don't have an internet connection, I cannot do that.

Actually, you can if you've got the install media (or burn a copy on another system)

I just figured it out. I ended up using the repository on the disk and created a repo file in yum. Thanks!

You're welcome

Incidentally, (just for background info) it is possible to setup a yum proxy, so that your system gets stuff from the net, via another system.
Also, there is 'Spacewalk' which sets up a complete install repo internally, complete with Channels/settings for each registered system.
The RHEL version is called Satellite.
