Adding directory to $PATH
Hi. I have Suse 9.1, and I'm new to Unix. I would like to add permanently a new directory to $PATH. When I write PATH=$PATH:/home/.... it remains only for the current session. I want it to be both in my normal login and in the su mode. What would be the way to do do that? Also (it may sound really dumb)- how can I use emacs (or any other programme) with a super user mode, so I can manipulate all kinds of files? I don't know how to use the KDE interface as a su. Thanks a lot.
