add usb repository to apt?

I'm currently running Debian Lenny. That computer is not connected to the internet. I'd like to use synaptic to install deb files and source files, which I'll download from another computer to a USB stick. However, I don't know how to add the proper line to sources.list to make this possible.

I have apt-cdrom and apt-zip, but they are both confusing to me. If I got good instructions, I could probably figure them out.

Thanks all!

Just see /etc/apt/sources.list

It should be very similar to the cdrom one. Or see the apt manual in the debian site.

Better still dump the whole USB stuff into /var/cache/apt/archives

I know about sources.list, I've tried several times but synaptic always crashes because of a "malformed line." How would I put it in sources.list as a folder, not a website?

I'll check the manual.
