'Add/Remove Software' in Fedora 9 isn't working

I just installed Fedora 9, and am trying to add programs. I use 'Add/Remove Software' but I always end up with this error:

Problem connecting to software source. Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please Verify its path and try again.

I've also tried using yum, but it seems to freeze so I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. This is my first installation of linux (I previously used liveusb) so I'm probably overlooking something.
Thanks in advance!

I think you'll find that after an initial install, the respository list defaults to the install media eg DVD.
My new F8 did just that.
As I'm at work, I can't give you step by step, but when you try to update, it should bring up a list of the repositories its pointing at. The DVD was top of my list, so I unselected it and it was all good from there.

I installed F9 from a liveusb drive. Will that change anything? The liveusb was created using fedora's new liveusb creator program. Thank You!

Should still be the same end result. Give it a try, assuming it installed a GUI.
Otherwise you'll have to edit the repository cfg file by hand. There are threads here that explain that.
