Sounds like you're having a problem. But since you haven't said anything about what you're doing when the problem comes up, what version/distro of Linux, anything about your hardware (aside from this generic SCSI card message), or the environment it's in, we can't really help you.

Post complete information, and we can try to go from there, but with just a generic error message, there's not much anyone can do for you.

You need to post the relevant information in your post, not in attached text files.

For the rest of the community who may try to help, you're using RHEL5.2, with a tape library, and Arkeia backup software. That said, you're in a supported configuration, since you're paying for support from RedHat and Arkeia (most probably)....I'd call them, and work through the problem. If your whole server is working, and you only receive an error when you try to access the tape library, that narrows it down.

First thing I'd do, is to make sure the library has the latest firmware revisions on it. Then make sure you're using the right drivers. Once you have verified those items, I'd run hardware tests on the library itself. There are probably routines/programs that you can run, to make the drives mount/unmount, and make the changer operate, so put it through it's paces there. If you still have no problems, you've narrowed it down to Arkeia, and the way it talks to the library.
