ACPI Bios Problem
Hullo
I want to dualboot SuSE8.1 on a Compaq Evo D300v. The HDD has 40GB of which 20 GB are used for W2k. Now when I boot from the SuSE CD and after selecting "Installation" I get the following Error message: ACPI: Vendor "Compaq "System " DST" Revision 0x0 has a known ACPI BIOS problem. ACPI: Reason: Bogus PCI Routing. This is a non-recoverable error. Unable to handel kernel Null pointer dereference at virtual address 00000004 I first went into the BIOS and tried to Enable/Disable the ACPI settings. I know that SuSE has some issues with ACPI since I installed it on several Laptops before but this is the 1st time I get this error on a Workstation. Pleaz HELP!!! |
I solved the problem by installing SuSE in Safe mode and then using Yast2 to configure.
