acer aspire one no @ funtion

I can not set up an email account.When asked for my email address the @ is " any suggestions other than changing keyboard layout,I have tried that to no avail. (Acer Aspire One 1.6 Mhz 120 GB HD notbook.

Sounds like it's set to UK keyboard, so shift + ' is " and shift + 2 is @.

In KDE, go to System Settings, Regional and Language, Keyboard Layout, enable keyboard layouts and add USA.
