accidentally deleted my ifcfg-eth2 file

tfcfg-eth2 is gone... I deleted it accidentally, well, not accidentally... on purpose. i did accidentally make some wrong changes in it while in VI and i didn't know how to restore back to the original file so i RM'd it. How do I get this file back now? it had the MAC address of the NIC and I no longer know what that is otherwise I'd just recreate the file by copying the contests from ifcfg-eth1 and editting the contents.

I'm running CentOS 4.4 in shell mode only trying to learn this stuff.

If you are working in the CLI, there is no trash, undo, etc. many editors make backups by default. Check to be sure don't have <filename>~ somewhere. Also, distros often have templates somewhere

ifconfig -a will give you the MAC address for the card
