Accessing root partition from Knoppix.

I have slackware installed and I need to access the root partition from Knoppix. It looks like it's mounted under /etc/fstab, but I couldn't access it. I tried using the mount command mount -t ext2 /slackpart /dev/hda8 but this didn't work. Thanks in advance.

Edit; and yes, I did mkdir /slackpart

I fooled around with Knoppix for 5 minutes the other day,
and I got the impression that it automatically mounts all
your partitions and creates an icon on the desktop (kde) for
each one of them.

If you think your /dev/hda8 isn't mounted, the correct syntax to
mount it is:
mount -t ext2 /dev/hda8 /slackpart
assuming it's an ext2 filesystem.

I think slack installs on a reiser file system as standard so
mount -t ext2 /slackpart /dev/hda8 wont work for this
i think try:
mount -t reiser /slackpart /dev/hda8
