Accessing files across LAN.

I have 5 computers on my LAN (all Debian boxes) and would like to be able to access the HD's (the /home directories for now) of all from which ever machine I happen to be using. All machines are set up with the same user name and the same password.

What is the easiest way of doing that?

Thanks,
JP.

The very easiest, at a user level, probably sshfs. Really depends how you want this access to work. having a big web of interlinked shares sounds a bit nasty though, maybe you should promote one machine to be a proper server for /home and use NFS?

+1 for sshfs. You need to setup sshd on each computer then (to make it extra convenient) setup ssh so that you can login to each of the computers without a password. Then if you install sshfs you can mount the remote computer on a local folder:
Code:
sshfs ${remote-hostname}:/path/to/folder/you/want/to/mount /local/folder/to/mount/on

I'll try sshfs first.

Thanks,
