accessing encrypted usb drives in suse

I have two Windows 7 encrypted usb drives and cannot read them in suse. Can anyone help with this problem?

How exactly did you encrypt the drives in windows? With what tool?

Some encryption tools (such as TrueCrypt) are platform-independent and you can use them on both windows and linux. Some others (such as EFS) are windows only and you will not be able to decrypt the data on linux.

I am not aware of any way you can read such data on linux. Sorry.

While both EFS (Windows encrypted file system) and BitLocker use AES in CBC mode as an algorithm, they implement additional OS specific features along with it making it's use problematical on other systems.

The only thing I might suggest if you used BitLocker, is to try running the Microsoft BitLocker To Go Reader tool in WINE. I don't know if this will work (I suspect not) but may be worth a try.

I doubt you'd get EFS to unlock. As I understand it, part of the issue is the user being authenticated and part of that is a high precision clock time stamp that is almost impossible to re-create. I could be wrong.
