access to web address

Hi everyone!

I tried to use youtube-dl but it didn't work, I googled it, and it came out that it needed to be updated. I did sudo youtube-dl --update, now, everytime I try to use it I see this:

"Hi! We changed distribution method and now youtube-dl needs to update itself one more time.
This will only happen once. Simply press enter to go on. Sorry for the trouble!
From now on, get the binaries from http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/download.html, not from the git repository.

But nothing happened.

I remove youtube-dl with Synaptic (I'm using Debian squeeze), and then I found this page:
http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/download.html, in which they said that to install youtube-dl I should do:
"sudo wget http://youtube-dl.org/downloads/2013.04.03/youtube-dl -O /usr/local/bin/youtube-dl"
but the host is unreachable, then I tried this

joc@mrp-prettydesk:~$ ping http://youtube-dl.org
ping: unknown host http://youtube-dl.org

then I ping the same through http://ping.eu/ping/ but it seems ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

If you want to ping the site remove http://, use
Code:

and the output will be
Code:

64 bytes from aries.uberspace.de (95.143.172.170): icmp_req=2 ttl=47 time=297 ms

Nothing happens here

joc@mrp-prettydesk:~$ ping youtube-dl.org
PING youtube-dl.org (95.143.172.170) 56(84) bytes of data.
... then I did Ctrl-C

^C
--- youtube-dl.org ping statistics ---
222 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 221093ms
then I did
joc@mrp-prettydesk:~$ traceroute youtube-dl.org
traceroute to youtube-dl.org (95.143.172.170), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 134.153.31.254 (134.153.31.254) 0.428 ms 0.460 ms 0.523 ms
2 134.153.240.200 (134.153.240.200) 0.364 ms 0.364 ms 0.366 ms
3 * * *
..
...
29 * * *
30 * * *
and nothing happened.
What should I do?

8.8.8.8 is Google Public DNS's IP. before i used dns ip address given by my ISP, but it didn't work for some websites so i changed to google public dns and since i can access all websites. more: Using Google Public DNS

hope it resolves ur problem.

Why Google Public DNS?
