Access Proxy from DHCP .......

Hello Sir
I am working as N/W Administrator of a premier Organisation.

I have a DHCP server which consists of number of hosts including a Proxy server .

All hosts are accessing proxy through manual setting in the browser only.
But I want to give access to all hosts proxy automatically without specifying the proxy IP in the browser.Because what I plan not to disturb the clients irespective of Proxy.

Also I have kept one spare IP for the visiter. My intension is, the visitor can access to the proxy without any manual setting.

So please help in this regard. It is most urgnet for as I have allready mentioned I am network Administrator of the company.

Thanks in advance.

Waiting for your quick response.

You can't specify the Web proxy server through DHCP.

The correct method is to put a PAC (Proxy Auto Configuration) file on a Web or FTP server and specify the URL in the browser configuration. This enables you to change the proxy settings centrally thereafter.

You can also set up a "transparent proxy" rerouting all outward network connections on port 80 to the proxy server. I would caution you that SSL does not work through transparent proxying.
