access my class video

I need to be able to access my classes offline / in a different file format, which are located at something similar to:

rtsp://vanaheim.lll.umaine.edu/mat127/lectures/02/512.mov

How do I download this so that I can convert the file to something normal like .OGV?

I tried using HiDownload, but I lost the sound. I need the sound to follow along.

THanks

You can try to download it with wget, or just try to bang that into your web-browser, replacing the rtsp with http, and see what happens. May also want to replace the rtsp on the wget command-line too, and see what happens.

Without knowing about the site, the login/protection on those files, or more about the restrictions, it's hard to say.

I've tried all that. The server give the data in parts. There are no login / protection, its just a crappy format that I can't read on my ipod touch or easily access when my Internet connection is slow (almost always).

Even normal methods like:
Code:
$ mplayer -noframedrop -dumpfile 01.rm -dumpstream rtsp://vanaheim.lll.umaine.edu/mat127/lectures/02/512.mov
return things like:
Code:
MPlayer SVN-r1.0~rc3+svn20090426-4.4.3 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory

Playing rtsp://vanaheim.lll.umaine.edu/mat127/lectures/02/512.mov.
