Accepting syslog from other machines.

Slackware seems to default to accepting syslog input from the local machine only, which is the most secure. However, I have a few ip's on the local network (such as my hardware router). How to I open up my syslog to the other machines?

Receiving side:

-add -r to syslogd startup option, restart.

Sending side:

-Add appropriate rules to syslog.conf, restart syslogd.

Something like:
*.crit @name.receiving.machine to send criticals and higher to receiving machine.

See man syslogd and man syslog.conf for details/fine tuning.

Oh, and don't forget your firewall settings, if you have on on your (local?) lan.
