Wink about: sources.list in debian


hi guys,where i can find some web addresses that can be added to my /etc/apt/sources.list in debian,i believe that my present repositories is not enough when i install packages..can u redirect me on how will this be..thanks in advance..

You don't just haphazardly add repositories to the sources.list file. You have to understand how it works ...
Here's where to get started.

You can try running apt-spy:

http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Apt-spy

Of course, you need a working sources.list first. If you install apt-spy, it will search out debian repositories in your geographical area and automatically create a sources.list file with the fastest servers measured. Using apt-spy is a mixed bag. Sometimes it works great, sometimes not so great.
