I've associated .ppt and .PPT files with ooimpress, but when I left click on them in konqueror, it still asks me for the application. (shows me the open with ... dialog box). How do i configure it so that it opens the .ppt file with ooimpress everytime i click on them?
As for the newsgroup, none that I know of. The url here is www.linuxquestions.org
As for the association problem... How did you do the association?
In your KDE Control Center is the File Association option, in there
you need to specify which applications to handle to open
specific files. If you have done that, make sure that your
specified application is at the top of the list (move them up with the arrows).
I assume you are directing that at me since I am the only one who responded with a suggestion. They didn't identify how they set file association, nor did they specify what else they've tried. So, starting with the simplest and working out, I replied with some ideas...
I've done all of the stuff u quoted above. Like i went into konqueror, clicked on file associations, and then clicked on powerpoint files and ooimpress is the first one in that list. but still whenever I try to open the file it asks me the application to open it with. I'm confused!!!...thoroughly..
I'm talking about when i click on a website powerpoint file. When i double click on a file on my hard disk it opens perfectly in ooimpress. Otherwise on a website when clicked it asks for the applicatoin. This kind of problem doesnt come up with Mozilla.
