About Linux differences With Windows
Hello friends,
Please can anybody tell me the differences when installing Oracle on Linux and on windows? What are Linux specificities? Regards. Mikha. |
Welcome to LQ!
What Oracle product are you referring to? |
Oracle database 11g
|
The Oracle website is pretty clear about all the requirements for both environments. Is there something specific you are after?
|
CentOS is the usual non-RH environment.

I doubt that you even tried to search, however Oracle puts out a Quick Install Guide and an Install Guide for 11gr2. That is a great place to start to figure out the differences between installing on Windows Vs Linux.

I ran Oracle Linux in a VM only for a few months, just hopping around. Isn't it for enterprise like RHEL?

In the directions, they will break down to do different things based on the Distro (RHEL, SuSE, Arch). |
