Are you absolutely positive it is pinging successfully? ifconfig says you don't have an IP address
what was the IP which you were able to ping because in the absence of IP address I don't think you would be able to ping localhost as well
I believe The Ethernet card is inactive so better to make it up
OP - are you sure you were able to ping? What IP did you ping? Usually when you can ping an IP but don't have access to the internet, it means your DNS is not configured correctly. You still need an IP though, which it doesn't appear you have. Are you using a static IP or DHCP? What are you using to configure your network (NetworkManager or manually?) Do you have two network ports or just the one?
i was testing, i got a answer here, and i forgot to plugged the wire and fire the command. Sorry.. But the problem has been solved....
1] Click Application->Search Network from Search Box->Click on Network settings->Edit Wired Settings and add IPAdress, DSN and other..
Good to hear you've got it working. If you consider your problem solved then please mark this thread as such. Have fun with Linux.
