Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Sorry if anyone else has already posted something about this but I've had a look on linuxquestion.org forum, on abits home page and searched various search engines and I can't find a thing.
So heres my problem. I'm trying to install Mandrake 9.0 from DVD, now I've got as far as selecting a RAID drvier so it will detect my hard drives...im currently using HPT 374 with windows XP which works fine. But I can't seem to get linux to detect theres any drives there. The disk provided with the Motherboard (AT7 MAX Legacy Free) only has windows 9x and xp/2k RAID drivers which are no good, and I've been through all the driver options it gives with the MDK DVD and none of them work.
Any ideas anyone...I should probably mention im a totally linux newbie, I've installed MDK 7.2 before but haven't used it much at all (im using 2 network cards and it won't detect them but thats another story) and the computer i installed that on didn't use RAID so I haven't had to deal with it before.
