A virgin Linux user
Okay, Im very new so bare with me.
I installed debian linux for the first time 2 days ago and I have an small problem, but one which I have no Idea as how to fix. When I boot into GNOME everything works perfectly and Linux rocks - no errors or anything. Unfortunately, I want to use KDE. When I login to KDE it hangs on the init screen on "initilialising periferals" and I have to reset. Is this perhaps a common problem? I dont even know what info to give you. But Ill check back tomorrow sometime and answer any questions. Any Ideas would be cool. thanks |
Try taking the periferals out one per start-up, and see which one hangs it?

hi
if you are using root delete the .kde folder inside /root. if any other delete that folder under /home/<username. rm -rf .kde after that try running kde regards rahul sundaram |
