A surefire way to crash the sound server.
I found a way to crash the Linux sound server! Just play a Windows compressed Wave and the sound server's gone. Anyone heard of this? I bet that the word Windows factors in somehow.:p

That's great information.. I'm confused on how its suppose to help us though in any way? And I don't usually don't download or create Windows compressed WAV files when I'm using Linux.. doesn't make sense to me.

The moral of the story is to not try it, or make a "Linux" copy of a sound you want to use for your system events or something. I also put it to see if anyone thought it was wierd or unusual. I found it by having a Metroid theme I wanted to port to Linux. At first, I thought my sound server was misconfigured since it would sound wierd then wouldn't play sounds at all until I restarted. You can also consider this a head's up.
