A real stupid oops

So, I've been trying to update my GAIM for the past 2 days, after a successful update to KDE 3.4.1 some things are misdirected, which isn't so bad. But I was cleaning up a few libraries and I noticed that kde-3.4.1 (the folder created by konstruct) was still in my /root path, I figured since I had already copied all the neccessary files for KDE and it was running fine I could delete it. So I sent it to the trash.
Now I try to compile GTK within the next 2 seconds and it's looks in /opt/kde, fine, but /opt/kde is linked to /root/kde-3.4.1 which I sent to the trash. And SINCE all applications are linked by that, I can't open my trashcan and hit restore and everything will be fine. I can run everything at a base, crippled level. I really just can't get to my trashcan. Can someone help?
Like possibly accessing the trash from the command line and then just copying the dir back to /root, or something else. Because when I tell the trashcan to open with Konqueror (command: konqueror) it half-way works, but then tells me "Malformed URL trash:/" So, uh, any suggestions?

I imagine if you just find the trash directory you can navigate to it through command line and move things back where you need it to be. I'm not a KDE guru so I'm not sure where trash would be, but if you have slocate you could try "slocate trash" or "slocate kde-3.4.1".
I wouldn't be too worried that your system is screwed, the files are still there, and you will be able to access / restore them eventually (even if it means resorting to a live CD or the like).

Got it, through another accident I found out how to fix this.

Lucky for me konqueror would still bring up a valid, working interface. On the main page of the new one for KDE-3.4.1 ... which somehow worked, it has a working link to the Trash, which I just went into and right-clicked and hit Restore.

Sorry about that fellas!
