In all honesty, I thought I should upgrade it so that way I am up to date with hardware drivers, since I felt like 2.6 is a little old. But, now that you mention it, I do have a computer with a UEFI enable BIOS (is that correct wording? I don't know a lot about UEFI, haven't really taught myself yet) and I wanted to dual boot Slackware with my Windows 7 partition. I tried to install it yesterday, but Slackware could not find the installation DVD that was (supposed to be) in /dev/cd0. I am assuming it is because the hardware in my PC is fairly new.
Nice little guide, but I think the one from AlienBob is way more extensive, especially when it comes to things that one can make wrong (read the part about the kernel headers).
