A question about pci ids...

When you run
Code:
lspci -n
You get numerical values for devices. Then you can use http://kmuto.jp/debian/hcl/ and place those numbers in there to see which devices and their corresponding modules are for when you need to rebuild the kernel or when you need to find out the module associated with the device.

Is there a way to get that database on my own mysql database? I'd like to set this up. Where do these IDs get updated for new hardware?

The pciid database is contained in a text file: /usr/share/pci.ids.d/pci.ids.dist

A script "/sbin/update-pciids" downloads new versions of the file.
