A problem uninstalling Mandrake bootloader
Greetings,
On an XP computer, I've had Mandrake 10.0 installed for a year. Having problems with a second physical HD, the one with the Mandrake partition, I had to format the drive and restore all Windows data. Now, I want to reinstall Mandrake on a third physical, to prevent any future partition table conflicts with XP. However, the screen where I used to choose between XP and Mandrake (is this the "bootloader") seems to snatch the computer to Windows before the Mandrake install CD can begin its install process. BIOS is set to boot from floppy, then CD, then HD. If this is the bootloader (Windows default) interfering with a new install of Mandrake, what is the workaround? How do I get the computer to pick up the Mandrake install rather than moving on to Windows? Do I need to use the XP install disk to recreate the MBR? Do I need to uninstall the bootloader, and if so, how?
Thanks loads for any help.
Spirit.
