Hi, I'm new to this site, and I thought I would share with the board a college project that I've been working on, that I have chosen to dedicate to the open source community. It's just a college project, and I'm not making any money off of it.
My project provides audio files of short stories that I have written for free distribution on the internet. Along the way there will be more open source content that is entertainment related. Right now the stories that are there are just a few things that I put together with the open source technology that I found that was available to me, such as Audacity and Open Office.
I've found open source technology to be so awesome that I'm thinking of switching to Linux for my OS. Does anyone have any suggestions on which brand out there I should use? Keep in mind that I'm not really familiar with code, I'm just trying to find a good alternative to the Axis of evil that is Microsoft.
Thanks...I'll have to admit, the Windows mentality is hard to shake, but the way I see it, it's just like smoking. You think you'll never be able to quit and then one day you decide that it has to be done.
I'm not really a computer whiz or anything... I'm just a writer, and I know enough about computers to get by but beyond that, I'm clueless. That's why I came to the board.
