a "how do I" ...email

Hi everyone.

In windows I used THeBat. What a terrific appy. I'm playing around with evolution...not bad, but I need one (1) thing... I need to be able to check my email on the server prior to downloading.

Now, if any of you are accustomed to this feature, you know how important it is.
I cannot find how to implement this feature.

Some of you may suggest that I install a mail server on my home pc for that purpose...naah.

Is there a way for this to happen in Evolution...or even kmail?

Thanks for any help.

Just one question....why is it important?

I kind of see the need in a windows environment, but not a Linux one.
