Question A good Linux distribution


i have a Compaq laptop with 10gb hard drive, 256mb of ram and a celeron Coppermine-128 cpu it just sitting there but i wanted to install a good version of Linux but i don't know witch one would work good on this computer.
thanks for any help you might have!

Or if you fancy some fun and customised, grab the Debian disk, boot up and do the text install, don't select to install the desktop and install only what you need from command line.

I started writing an article for a lightweight install on a Toshiba Tecra PIII 300 with 256mb and 8Gb HDD. You can find that here.
