How would u explain the following :

a. NFS Hard mount and Soft mounting

b. at command

c. /etc/exports

d. ssl

Hi!
There are a lot of documentation for those topics.
Check the man pages (there exist pages for all of the topics you wrote)
Try
where xxx is 'nfs' or 'exports' or whatever you want. At the end of man pages uses to be more references to other man pages or files where more information can be found.
You also have the HOWTOs, there are several on NFS.
You can look for more information in any ebook at http://www.tldp.org/

Well I'd probably point them towards the how-to at TLDP. "Why though, it's so hard to understand?" Yes it is, but NFS is IMHO advanced enough that one shouldn't really need to be worrying about it/messing with it without some prior knowledge in that general area. Then I'd answer specific questions afterwards.

What at a command? Mounting NFS? I didn't even know there was another way, so I guess I'd cover that in A.

Completely (well nearly) unrelated, but I'd start out explaining sockets I guess, and hopefully eventually get a vague idea in their head. Then I'd explain the need for security wrt those sockets, and show how ssl provides that security. In all honesty though, I'd move their thread to Linux - Security and request that one of our security guru's give the question the attention it deserves ;)
