6monitors, 2video cards - AMD Radeon 6670s, don't want displays to clone.

Hello Everyone. One of my criteria to use Linux is to have my critial hardware working. The most difficult is my multiple monitor setup. I've spent 4 days working on it but i'm not getting anywhere.

Hardware:
Asus AMD HD 6670 graphics cards X 2. THe card uses DVI, DisplayPort & HDMI.
Dell 1905 monitors 19" X 6. Native Resolution is 1280*1024
Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 64bit.

There is a lot of contradictory opinions out there with multiple displays. I've had the most success with ArandA. The program Display comes with Mint, but is quite useless.

I'm very elementary with the CLI. I'm elementary with everything.

I switch back and forth with windows, by unplugging Disks, but that's another problem.

I've had all 6 monitors/screens showing the desktop at once, however, 2 of the displays mirror/clone a display which I believe is setup to be a primary. BTW the monitors are 2 rows of 3 monitors.

I've seen my xorg.conf file but don't know how to do anything with it.

Although lots of tutorials point to using the AMD catalyst system, I didn't go that route.

I want one desktop where I can drag windows between them, with just one pointer, not clones.

Any helpful current thoughts? Should i post my Xorg.conf file somehow?

Now using MATE instead of Cinnamon, it seems to be better suited to MultiHead.
