6.1 RedHat from CD-ROM
I couldn't have stumbled any sooner than this. I'm attempting to install RedHat 6.1 (2.2.12) from a bootable CD-ROM and am getting a 'no screens found' error and the bootup quits. I can only imagine that this is a hardware problem. The real difficulty is that there is only a flash of what the boot is doing on the screen and then gone, so the only information I can get from it is the following:
(--) Mach64: PCI:unknown ATI (0x5245) rev 0. The directory "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/type1 does not exist" and the big one: "None of the configured devices were detected". I've searched the internet and there is next to nothing on this particular message. In need of help. Thanks. |
video card
exactly what video card and motherboard chipset is in that machine? it's kinda hard to imaging an ATI card not detecting in rh linux... but i guess it could happen. try swaping video cards or try manually configuring it.
also, check the hardware howto for more info: http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/...WTO/index.html |
