4x4 matrix keypad interface with beaglebone black

Hello everyone.

Actually I am trying to interface 4x4 matrix keypad with beaglebone. I found the Interface GPIO driven matrix keypad driver in kernel. So, I have included that driver and passed the platform data from board file and I have compiled the kernel and ported. But here I have few doubts?

1. How can I write application to test the keypad??
2. How do I get the /dev node???
I have checked for the node but I didn't found. But in /dev/input/matrix-keypad one node is there but don't know it is exactly.

Could you please.....help me.
