3D Graphics Question (SuSE 8.1)

I updated my Nvidia GeForce4 Ti4200 drivers through YaST2. When I try to enable 3d features I get the following:

Mismatched color depth for OpenGL acceleration. Most OpenGL drivers require a color depth of 16 bit to work properly. The currently used color setup does not fulfull this requirement. Verify the current default color depth setup.

I'm in 24bit 1600x1200. I'm confused. I can play Tux Racer but the screen is super small.

Hi, since you are experienced in graphics stuff..
Can you please tell me how to get 32 bit color depth settings.
I do not need 3D but I need 32 bit color depth. It onle gives me 8,16,24 bit color depths, but I need 32 bit
