3d acceleration problem
First hi to everyone, this is my first post.
I'm new to linux and I have a problem with 3d acceleration in Fedora Core 4 64bit. My graphic card is ATI Radeon 9600XT and I have installed ATI linux driver and it works fine. Problem starts when I try tu use Point2Play and cenega to start Call of Duty, it says that my drivers are not up to date. I tried to start C&C: Generals and it actualy worked but very slow and then I saw that it has no 3d acceleration, so I think that's why Call of Duty doesn't start either. I used Point2Play system tests and in that test OpenGL passed but 3d accleration failed the test. Can anyone help me, I'm working on this problem for the past 5 days and haven't come up with anything. |
Could you post the output of this command?
Code:
glxinfo | grep direct |
dfilkovi, welcome to LQ then
on top of cs-cam very good suggestion, here some stuffs you can look at to learn about your graphic system command called xdpyinfo a log you print on screen: cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log (check the filename) Look as well at /etc/X11/xorg.conf Nobody wants to see the whole of it, but some good section might help at some point. I know this will be garblegiboo at first, but you will learn What is the score from glxgears just as a curiosity |
I solved the problem reading this post form borchen an I thank him.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d+acceleration It was just so frustrating for me that I can't install the driver just double clicking on the rpm and than start conf utility. Thanx to Borchen. |
