3com card internet connection problems mandrake behind a router
hi-
i've just installed mandrake 10 and i cant get the internet connection to work, im completely and utterly new to linux in every single way. the machine is using a 3com network card which it seems to have detected and its behind a belkin router many thanks in advance, Dom p.s during boot it comes up with the error 'et0 interface' - [error] |
post the output of these commands as root from a terminal please
lspci -v lsmod ifconfig -a route -n good luck. (don't post the output of the good luck luck command, it probably won't return anything ;-) just lightening things up.) |
i actually just got it working..
i ripped out the network card from my sisters computer and put it in mine. it seemed to be a 3com card incompatiblity, i found references to it floating around the web. many thanks for the quick reply though dom... p.s no doubt this will be one problem of many i will have to face :p |
it could've been a driver problem, 3com typically has good support. in any event, glad you got it sorted.
