2 versions of glib conflict
I have been trying to install atk and this is the error I got.
Installing atk-1.2.4 *** 'pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0' returned 2.2.3, but GLIB (2.2.1) *** was found! If pkg-config was correct, then it is best *** to remove the old version of GLib. You may also be able to fix the error *** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing *** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is *** required on your system. *** If pkg-config was wrong, set the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH *** to point to the correct configuration files no configure: error: *** GLIB 2.0.0 or better is required. The latest version of *** GLIB is always available from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/. I have installed glib 2.2.3 using the default options but I am not able to run glib-config [root@localhost root]# glib-config --version bash: glib-config: command not found From glib-2.2.3 manual : "/usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/include" has new glib and it advices that "/usr/local/include/glib-2.0" has the old version and should be deleted. The new glib directory (/usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/include) has only one file (shown below) so I am skeptical to remove the old glib. [root@localhost include]# pwd /usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/include [root@localhost include]# ls glibconfig.h I know that I have to edit /etc/lo.so.conf (shown below) [root@localhost etc]# cat ld.so.conf /usr/kerberos/lib /usr/X11R6/lib /usr/lib/sane /usr/lib/qt-3.1/lib but I dont know what link to add, please help. |
hmm, try /usr/lib/glib/include
this is where my glibconfig.h is |
