2 users, 1 mailbox and 1 home directory

is it possible to make 2 users with same mailbox and same home directory? but when i send emails, they will be differently named. like user1@somewhere and user2@somewhere.
i need it for email aliases... though there may be an easier way to acomplish it.

Do you really need to create two completely seperate users? Could you not simply set up two email accounts for the one user and switch between them depending on whether you want the email to be from 'user1' or 'user2'?

Add an alias in the /etc/mail/aliases file. The format is something like this:
Code:
alias1: realuser
alias2: realuser
Run the command "newaliases" after editing the file so the alias db will be updated.
