0.9% non-contiguous blocks
This evening when I started my box (RHEL 4 U4 AS i386), file system on "/" was forcefully checked and it reported 0.9% non-contiguous blocks. Could an yone please explain the concept of non-contiguous blocks and is there anything suspicious in my case.

In the Micro$oft Windows world, non-contiguous blocks would be called fragmentation. 0.9% is, in my opinion, too small to worry about. Others may have a different opinion.
Do some internet research via www.google.com/linux on the subject of Linux fragmentation. There is reading material aplenty. |
