[SOLVED] Installing slackware over ubuntu

I have a laptop with broken ubuntu and windows 7. I want to replace ubuntu 10.10 with slackware 13.1. If I was to just install it over the top would the slackware bootloader (lilo?) Replace the ubuntu one(grub?). Because that would make my life easier.

yes, if you install lilo to the MBR

Kind regards

If I understand you correctly you want to install Slackware over a present install. Bad idea! You should prepare each partition for the install. In the setup script you will be given the option to format the partition you have. I suggest that you format the ones to be used for the Slackware install. After the install, you will have the option to install 'Lilo', write it to the MBR if you want Lilo as the bootloader.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you! I didn't realise there was an option at the end to write lilo to the mbr
