[resolved] suse linux boot option for cmd line

1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys

I am trying to power on this SUSE linux 11 SP2 VM that I got. But every time after I type in the login and password the whole thing just freezes on me.

I want to change the boot option so it boots into the cmd line, so I can see if there are more errors.

but i am not sure what to put for the boot option to get the cmd line.

Attached is a screenshot to show what I mean.

thanks

You can add 'single' to the command line options, to boot into single user mode for further debugging.

Or use the "failsoft" option - it should get rid of the boot splash so you can see the boot messages scroll by. And when they stop.

hi all

so it turns out the application loaded on the VM had a larger mem requirement then what it previously required. once i increased the memory it works now.

thanks
