[Centos 6 firefox OWA] How to get new emails notification from the tab or desktop?

Hi, me again.

I am using Outlook Web App in Firefox on Centos 6 as the replacement of outlook on Windows, and it is required. However, I could not find a way to make the new emails notification showed on either Firefox tabs or desktop, so that I can work on other tabs or applications.

To be clear, the Outlook Web App itself does notify me when there is new emails or new events, but I have to on its tab. I have experienced that missed some crucial emails cause I was browsing other tabs, and caused somewhat quite bad results (for me). As the result, I have to have a separate Firefox Window open on my second monitor all time just for the Outlook Web App. I am wondering if there is any way to solve it?

I have tried the Firefox add-on, tab notifier, but it does not work with the Outlook Web App in terms of the new email notification. I guess because the notification was popped inside the application itself...

Thanks in advance!

I think a solution could be the firefox add-on, Outlook Web App: Show Unread Count in Tab.

It only works when the new mails are stay in the inbox (i.e. does not work if your mail rules move them to sub-folders), but it is good enough to me. I just copy it to the sub-folders to "look pretty". Since in fact what I really use mostly is the unread filter and manually searching filter for my email piles.

Cheers,
