Exclamation **Please Help Me**


Hi, this is my first post, and I have just jumped into Linux,

I have downloaded Linux Redhat, and burned the ISOs onto blank cdrs.

I want to install it onto my old 4.2GB hd that is curranltly completely empty with no OS on it. I have formatted it and it is ready to use.

I have a Windows ME boot diskette, is this what I need ???

When I get to the Dos screen I try to run autorun, but it is a bad filename...

I then tried to enter the dosutils folder, and run autoboot,

but still no luck...



Im not sure what to do next,

Please help me,

Please useful thread titles. obviously you are here for help, there is no need to say so in the title.

just boot from the cd. turn the machine off, and as long as your bios is set to boot from cdrom before hard disk it will load.

and no, a windows boot disk is utterly useless here. and things like autorun only exist in windows, not linux.

If you can't boot from the CD there are instructions here on how to make an installation boot disk.
